Good Times

Events a Plenty

The Laboratory is here to stay and not just because of its considerable seismic strength. Martin and Lisa are dedicated community members with big eyes for the future of Lincoln. Whether it's supporting local events with the Mobile Laboratory or Food Truck, Monday night ticketed events from the Arts on Tour circuit, movie screenings or quiz nights - The Laboratory is keen supporter of the arts in Selwyn. The Classroom also provides the ability to offer classes or film viewings and accommodate meetings. A convenient, central location on the village green holds much promise, as well, for both collaboration and community events. In true Lincoln spirit, Lisa and Martin are encouraging members of the community to join them on this journey, from pub to community hub. Make yourself at home and become a part of the story.

**FRESH HOP TAP TAKEOVER**

The NZ harvest took place in March and many New Zealand breweries took the opportunity to brew using fresh green hops on the day they are picked, thus avoiding the kilning process and capturing more of the natural hop flavours and aromas.

This year at the Lab we have collected over 15 fresh hopped beers from around the country and will be putting them all on tap for you to try on the 2nd May. The event runs until the 7th, but we have limited stock so get here early in the week to enjoy the full line-up

Our movie night screening for June is Philomena. Falling pregnant as a teenager in Ireland in 1952, Philomena was sent to the convent of Roscrea to be looked after as a "fallen woman". When her baby was only a toddler, he was taken away by the nuns for adoption in America. Philomena spent the next fifty years searching for him in vain.

Then she met Martin Sixsmith, a world-weary political journalist who happened to be intrigued by her story. Together they set off for America on a journey that would not only reveal the

extraordinary story of Philomena's son, but also create an unexpectedly close bond between them. A true story.
